A Surveilled Future

Technology, in all its forms, is becoming increasingly integrated into our lives. From smartphones to smart cars and smart watches we are voluntarily allowing ourselves to be tracked and monitored. Now, what about the monitoring we’re not always aware of? In many places in China there is an elaborate surveillance system that monitors, and even controls, the population. These cameras are everywhere, can recognize everyone, and even recognize patterns of behavior. So, has this technology already gone too far, or is it paving the way for a new technologically advanced future that the US has yet to catch onto?
